In May 2023, the GITG Coaches Council came together in New York City for a meaningful and memorable gathering. During our time together, the Council engaged in insightful discussions focused on the continued growth and impact of the GITG program. It was a powerful opportunity to exchange ideas, share best practices, and reinforce our collective vision for the future.
A highlight of the trip was the privilege we had of touring the Memorial Sloan Kettering Transplant Center. Touring the facility gave us a deeper understanding of the impact we are making.
One of the most heartfelt moments of the trip was the surprise celebration of Coach Andy Talley’s 80th birthday. We marked the occasion with a special dinner in the heart of Little Italy—an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, memories, and deep appreciation for Coach Talley’s incredible legacy. It was fantastic!
The Coaches Council meeting concluded on a high note at the annual NMDP New York Gala, where the Council members were honored for their dedication and contributions to our mission of saving lives. The recognition reaffirmed the importance of our work and left everyone feeling energized and inspired.
We returned from New York more energized and inspired by these extraordinary days forever etched in our memories.
